🏖️Kick Off the Season – Beach & BBQ Style!
We’re starting the Hawkeye football season with a splash! Join us on Saturday, August 30th, as Iowa takes the field for the first game of the season. Kickoff is at 5:00 PM, but we’ll be soaking up the fun beforehand with our Beach & BBQ-themed tailgate. Let’s bring the heat to Kinnick and kick off the season in style!
Theme: Beach & BBQ
Apparel: Bring your black and gold leis and best Hawaiian shirts!
Food: BBQ food and island-themed cocktails
Charity of the Tailgate: The Langland Family "Be a Light" Foundation
The foundation's mission is to remember and honor the life of Brooke Anne Langland, who died unexpectedly at the age of 17 in November of 2020. Brooke was a senior at Liberty High School in the Iowa City Community School District and a member of the award-winning dance team. The foundation will utilize funds to create college scholarships for Liberty High School students, support the dance team, as well as support other local charities in Brooke's name.
