Okay, game week! While the house is still a work in progress, it will be ready for guests on Friday. Early kick, beach/BBQ/Jimmy Buffett tribute. Details are listed below, including food sign-up (see above). Since it is an early kick feel free to arrive anytime after 7am!

 

A couple of notes:

Water: Just a reminder…while it won’t be as hot as yesterday/ today, it will be hot on Saturday. I have a very limited number of bottles of water, as I want to reduce plastic usage. We do, however, have two chilled water dispensers, 15 gallons of water, and lots of washable cups. So bring some bottled water if you want, but there will be an earth-friendly option as well.

 

Recycling: As we did last year, we will reuse when possible (I bought lots of washable plates, cups, bowls, baskets, and forks) and we will recycle everything possible. Don’t make me dig plastic out of the trash! 😊

Charity: We will have some extra visitors for the Troy game and our first charity event. Family members from the “Why We Wave” foundation, families with kids with cancer, well I have invited them to stop by and we will have extra food and drink that week. I will get a better sense of how many, but Ashley said they expect to have `100 in their group and they would be visiting ~4/5 different tailgate sites, staggered so they don’t overwhelm anyone tailgate. We will do a charity auction for the “Why We Wave” foundation, which supports families affected by childhood cancer. We will do 1-2 additional charity auctions during the year. Since 50/50 auctions are technically not permitted without a license, we will just have some donated prizes and ALL the money can go to charity.
