Our Mardi Gras on Melrose tailgate on November 8 was one for the books as the Hawkeyes welcomed Oregon to Kinnick Stadium for the first time. Guests filled Melrose Avenue with beads, masks, festive attire, and Cajun-inspired food, creating a celebration worthy of New Orleans while proudly cheering on the Hawkeyes.
As part of the Military Appreciation Game, we took time to recognize and thank all who have served our country, with a special thank you to Becky, Scott, and all of the veterans in our Rose Club family. Their service and sacrifice remind us of the importance of supporting those who have served long after their time in uniform.
This week's featured charity was Willis Dady Homeless Services, a Cedar Rapids organization that provides shelter, housing assistance, and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness, including a strong focus on serving homeless veterans. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised $1,100 through donations and our raffle featuring a Hawkeye Grizzly cooler.
The day also brought an exciting surprise when Tim Dwight and the Big Ten Network Tailgate crew stopped by The Rose Club, adding even more energy to an already unforgettable game day. It was a fun opportunity to showcase what makes The Rose Club so special—great people, incredible traditions, and a commitment to giving back.
Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and helped make this event another example of Next Level Tailgating with a Purpose. Every dollar raised helps organizations like Willis Dady continue providing hope, stability, and support to those who need it most.
