August 30, 2025 | Langland Be a Light Foundation | Total Raised: $800

The Rose Club Foundation officially launched another season of Next Level Tailgating on August 30 as the Hawkeyes welcomed Albany to Kinnick Stadium. While opening day is always filled with excitement, this year's first tailgate also marked the beginning of another season dedicated to giving back to our community.

Our featured charity was the Langland Family Be a Light Foundation, created to honor the life and legacy of Brooke Anne Langland, a Liberty High School senior who unexpectedly passed away in November 2020 from an acute pulmonary embolism. Brooke's kindness, compassion, and positive spirit continue to inspire others through scholarships awarded to Liberty High School students in her memory.

Thanks to the generosity of our Rose Club family, we raised $800 for the foundation. The day's raffle brought in $300, featuring prizes including Hawkeye golf shirts, Hawkeye hats, a Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever #22 jersey, and an Indiana Fever #22 t-shirt. An additional $500 from Rose Club Foundation membership fees brought the total donation to $800, all of which will help fund future scholarships in Brooke's honor.

There couldn't have been a more meaningful way to begin the season than by supporting a local family and investing in the future of students in our own community. We're grateful to our longtime friend John Langland and his family for allowing us to be part of Brooke's lasting legacy and the incredible work of the Be a Light Foundation.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and purchased raffle tickets. Together, we started the season exactly the way we hoped—with great friends, Hawkeye football, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Here's to another season of Next Level Tailgating with a Purpose. Go Hawks! 🖤💛
