Our September 13th tailgate ahead of the UMass game was about so much more than football—it was about community, generosity, and honoring families affected by pediatric cancer. The Rose Club Foundation partnered with the Why We Wave Foundation for a second year, and together we created a day full of memories and impact.
Thanks to the incredible support from our members, the raffle alone raised $1,600, with the grand cooler prize going home with Stacie Wallingford’s friend. Combined with parking and membership funds, we were proud to present Ashley Hall, founder of the Why We Wave Foundation, with a $2,600 check. Ashley shared that it was the largest single donation the foundation has received since it began two years ago. With her efforts already raising nearly $30,000 to bring 600 families to Kinnick this year, our contribution helps push the goal of 1,000 families for next season even closer.

The highlight of the day, however, was welcoming six families into our tailgate. Their smiles, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude reminded us of the importance of giving back to our community. One of the most touching moments was hosting the family of Bentley, who came to honor his memory after he passed away last year at the age of six.
We also want to give special thanks to those who made the day unforgettable:
The Miller Band—Steve and Ella—for providing fishing games, gifts, and plenty of water balloon fun (which might just become a new tradition!).
Joey, our intern, for her energy, organization, and making the kids feel so welcomed.
Mitch, for donating the cooler that made our raffle such a success.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who donated, showed up, and helped create such a meaningful event. We look forward to hosting again in 2026!
